UN ESCAP Asia and thePacific Regional Expert Workshop on Ocean Accounts (August 1-3 2018, Bangkok,Thailand)

Based on the UnitedNations Assessment of capacity development needs of the countries in Asia andthe Pacific for the implementation of SDG14, the region needs strengthening oftechnical capacity, coordination, governance as well as data and statistics. 

ESCAP and UNEnvironment are leading the global effort to develop statistical guidance basedon the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) to ensure existingstatistics can be integrated along SDG14-related priorities. 

APRU experts arecalled to collaborate with this initiative through presentations on ten keyissues where additional work is required to develop measurement guidance. 

To facilitate this,ESCAP are holding the Asia and the Pacific Regional Expert Workshop on OceanAccounts, August 1-3 2018, Bangkok, Thailand.

Register yourinterest to actively contribute and engage with this UN ESCAP initiative fordeveloping international standards for the measurement of the economic, socialand environmental aspects of the ocean and coasts by completing the Nominationform.
